Fun fact: The album cover and cover album are different.

Album cover: or some call it album art, is the front packaging art of a commercially released studio album or other audio recordings. It is also considered a protection sleeve for what is contained inside.

Compact disc: Most well-known by the name CD, a compact disc is a circle digital disk that contains data (stores and plays digital audio recordings).

Digipak: The best way to describe it is that a digipak can be defined as a type of packaging for CDs normally made from cardboard with an internal plastic holder for one or more discs. To be clear, there are typically two types of album covers, digipak and jewel case.

Why Digipak?

Digipaks are CD sleeves or packaging made of cardboard, while jewel cases are plastic storage cases. Digipaks are widely considered the superior option. They offer more space for artists to display their graphics creatively and vibrantly. This extra "real estate" also allows for the inclusion of lyrics or personal messages, such as thank-you notes. Furthermore, digipak is clearly better for environmental protection.
